Training tomorrow leaders, as the wine world faces multiple challenges caused by global warming

WHY TEACHING ŒNOLOGY ?

The interest in offering courses on oenology, and more broadly on the wine industry, within French top universities is to make future leaders discover a sector that is emblematic for France on the international scene. Combining theory (with in-depth knowledge) and practice (with blind tastings), these courses are an opportunity for students to broaden their horizons. Going outside the scope of their studies for a few hours, they are given a high-level access to a unique cultural heritage. Beyond the work of the senses that oenology calls upon, this teaching also allows students to understand the political, economic, socio-cultural and environmental aspects that shape this industry.

OUR APPROACH

At La Sorbonne, Paris-Dauphine, CentraleSupélec or ESTP, we intervene occasionally or more regularly depending on students needs. In front of audiences ranging from 20 to 100 people, we discover and deepen specific themes determined in advance. The objective is both to develop the personal and professional skills of the students, but also to give them the level of knowledge required to participate in wine tasting competitions. Our courses are not simple lectures as we emphasize interactions and debates with the audience.
