AGEING POTENTIAL
The « vins de garde » have characteristics that allow them to travel through time and be aged for several years, even decades. They represent only a tiny fraction of the total wine production, estimated between 1 and 3%, as opposed to the vast majority of wines produced that are intended to be consumed fresh and young. They generally come from prestigious regions such as Bordeaux or Burgundy in France, Tuscany or Piedmont in Italy, Napa Valley in California, the Douro Valley in Portugal or the Mosel in Germany. They require specific production and storage conditions, and distinguished themselves by their ability to evolve positively in bottles, developing unique aromas and additional complexity over time.
OUR CELLAR
We identify and pick bottles very precisely to acquire them and consolidate the company’s assets. Many parameters are taken into account during the purchasing process: year of production (vintage), reputation of the estate, rarity of the wine, storage conditions, and many others. Unlike other more volatile investments, wine, especially when it comes to grands crus or rare wines, shows a constant appreciation over the long and very long term.
